A Whole New Way of Working
A practical, new one-day training workshop for anyone who wants to access and use all their
talents and skills to achieve success during the economic downturn and beyond (or help others to do so)
Date: Saturday, November 7th, 2009
Time: 9.00 am to 6.00 pm (including 90 minutes for lunch)
Location: ICL-Clarife, Language and Intercultural Centre of Lille Catholic University, 83 Boulevard Vauban, 59000 Lille, France
Trainer: Jeremy Solomons, President of Jeremy Solomons & Associates
A. Overview
Much has been written about the War for Talent but as the global economy struggles through a wrenching recession, no one’s future – from the boardroom to the mailroom - now seems secure. The only thing that seems certain is that – whether we work full-time at a large organization, own a small start-up or operate on our own - we must all actively explore new ways of being relevant and useful to our bosses, our clients, our colleagues (and ourselves) so that we can lead, partner and communicate more effectively with others as the recession recedes. This highly interactive and practical workshop – based on the whole-brain writings of Herrmann, Pink, etc. - will help individuals to understand the new challenges that they are facing; explore what they have to offer now and what might be missing; and create a personal plan and develop new skills to prepare for the future.
B. Objectives
Participants will:
1. Understand how the world of work is changing in the short term due to the global recession and in the longer term due to globalization, technology, communication, social trends, etc. (with reference to the whole-brain work of Herrmann, Pink, etc.)
2. Assess their own deep values, natural strengths and learned skills and what gaps they might have
3. Plan how to fill the perceived gaps and develop new skills – especially whole-brain ones - to overcome the challenges they face
C. Participants
This workshop is ideally suited to:
1. Experienced professionals who are “plateaued” or stalled in their careers or are being asked to work in different ways in future.
2. Less experienced professionals who are about to commit themselves to a particular career path or have already done so and still want to explore alternatives
3. Human Resource professionals, trainers and others who are helping clients and colleagues to develop their skills and talents in new directions
